There’s obviously a lot going on in our community and our country regarding this new germ COVID-19. Though we may not be in a country wide state of emergency, at PhysioCare we have adopted a state of urgency when it comes to the cleanliness and sanitation of our facilities. Prior to recent events, our clinical and admin staff were already extremely detailed and exceptionally particular when it came to keeping our facilities clean and sanitized.  Given the situation at hand, we have gone even further and taken extra steps to make sure our environment is a “Safe Zone”.

Our standard sanitation and cleanliness protocol already included:

  • Cleaning every treatment table before and after use with high grade disinfectant cleaners
  • Cleaning all equipment surfaces before and after use.
  • Disinfecting and frequent wiping of high-touch and high-traffic areas within the facility.
  • Weekly full-service cleaning and disinfecting of the entire facility by professional cleaning company.
  • Use of medical grade purple nitrile gloves during manual therapy treatment.
  • Washing of hands before and after all inter-patient contact.

We now have also implemented:

  • More frequent washing of hands for all staff members.
  • Encourage patients to wash hands before beginning session.
  • Extra hand sanitizer and disinfectant sprays throughout our facilities.
  • Increased equipment and high-touch area wipe down frequency.
  • Increased use of gloves by clinical staff.
  • BI-WEEKLY professional cleaning and disinfecting of all facilities.
  • WEEKLY Anti-bacterial & Anti-Viral fumigation of facilities using environmentally safe, natural agents.

What You Can Do:

  1. Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  2. Wash your hands with soap for 20 sec+ and use sanitizer(60% alcohol) if wash not available, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing.
  3. Cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash(NEVER YOUR HAND)
  4. Keep hands off face as much as possible (nose, eyes, mouth).
  5. Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household disinfectant cleaning spray or wipe.
  6. Love and be kind to all people, however hugs, kisses and hand-shakes are on the back burner for now! #elbowbump

Regarding the use of face masks, the CDC provides the following guidance:

  • The CDC does not recommend that people who are well wear a face mask.
  • Face masks should be used by people who show symptoms of COVID-19 (or the flu] to help prevent the spread, and for health workers and certain caregivers.

We have always prided ourselves on being above board when it comes to community health and safety. Now that we have taken these extra measures, our patients and staff can rest assured that we are a certified Safe Zone for any and all things that may compromise our patrons. We will keep you updated on the latest health guidelines and protocols if they are to change.

It goes without saying that without you there is no us and we are grateful for your continued patronage and commitment to your therapy treatment even as we navigate through these interesting times. We are here to serve you and keep you healthy at the same time.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call our office to see how we can help. Thank you for being the best part of PhysioCare!
